Sean ODonnellOct 6, 2014

Fantasy owners didn't get much out of Washington Redskins running backs Alfred Morris and Roy Helu on Monday Night Football. Although, neither player really should have been expected to produce huge numbers against the sturdy run defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

Washington kept up with Seattle for the vast majority of Monday's contest, giving the team's running backs plenty of opportunities to accumulate touches, but yards were few and far between. Morris received the bulk of the carries, but he could only muster one rush of over 10 yards.

The ball-carrier also fumbled once on the game, marking his second this season. Chris Russell of ESPN980.com tweeted his thoughts on Morris' ball-security issues:

One positive takeaway for Morris' fantasy owners was his volume of touches despite limited production. It's clear that Morris will remain the team's featured back going forward, and he should be expected to deliver better performances with more favorable matchups.

With Kirk Cousins moving Washington's offense with more efficiency in Week 5, Morris should see better days ahead with a more balanced attack. He should still be considered a viable RB2 in standard formats with a slightly reduced value in PPR leagues.

Helu received little work as a ball-carrier on Monday night; however, his value lies in his ability to act as a receiver out of the backfield. He was targeted several times by Cousins against Seattle and did record a long reception of 22 yards, showcasing his ability to create yards after the catch.

Washington was playing catchup to Seattle and the passing game was featured more frequently, so Helu saw as many snaps as Morris on Monday, according to Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus:

Still, without garnering a decent amount of carries, Helu's value remains simply as a handcuff.
