Michael Vick's Updated Fantasy Outlook After Geno Smith's Benching
Michael Vick replaced a struggling Geno Smith as the New York Jets quarterback in Sunday's Week 5, 31-0 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Even with the benefit of playing in garbage time against a soft defense, Vick couldn't execute well in a familiar offense. That makes his fantasy value close to zilch at the moment, barring any drastic development to the contrary.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ESPN Stats & Info brought up a pertinent point amid Vick's mostly disastrous relief performance, which was fluffed up with a late string of completions that didn't ultimately net any points:
Jets owner Woody Johnson had just given a rather strong endorsement for Smith, a 2013 second-round pick who didn't get the Jets past midfield in Week 5.
"I have a lot of confidence in Geno," said Johnson on Thursday, via FoxSports.com. "I think Geno can be a franchise quarterback, I really do. I see traits in him, and we all see traits in him, that are extremely positive and (leave) room for a lot of optimism."
Apparently Smith isn't entirely to blame for New York's offensive woes. Jets wide receiver Eric Decker didn't play in Sunday's contest, which took away a big target on the outside and perhaps the team's best weapon.
Vick had success before under offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg with the Philadelphia Eagles, but that was nowhere to be found in Week 5.
With the dynamic athleticism that made Vick, 34, such a dangerous open-field runner in his prime absent, he offers little fantasy value even if he does replace Smith for the remainder of 2014.
