Everton had to battle hard to earn a point in Russia, playing Krasnodar to a 1-1 draw. The hosts took charge early and tested Tim Howard on several occasions, and Ari deservedly gave his team the lead minutes before half-time.

Phil Jagielka's bad clearance fell right in the Brazilian's path, and he gave Howard no chance. As shared by OptaJoe, the Toffees' defence has really struggled lately:

Krasnodar continued to press for a second goal after the break, Wanderson's effort clipping the bar. Romelu Lukaku tested Andrey Dykan from a difficult angle, but chances for the visitors were few and far between.

Everton tried to push forward and were rewarded late in the second half, as Leighton Baines' cross found Samuel Eto'o, and the former Cameroon international didn't miss. Lukaku came close to winning it for the Premier League side with a powerful header, but a Toffees win wasn't meant to be.

Roberto Martinez was still happy with the result, and particularly the way it was obtained, per Everton's official Twitter feed:

Wolfsburg and Lille played out a 1-1 draw as well, the goals coming from Belgian internationals Kevin de Bruyne and Divock Origi, ensuring Everton keep the lead in Group H.

Harry Kane gave Spurs a first-half lead over Turkish side Besiktas with a thundering strike, but the visitors battled back and deservedly salvaged a point when Demba Ba scored from 11 yards out in the dying stages of the match.

As shared by WhoScored.com, Kane's opening goal in the 27th minute was Tottenham's first shot on target, as the Turks put together a solid display:

Hugo Lloris produced a series of impressive saves, including an early candidate for save of the year when he denied Ba from close range inside the final 10 minutes.

Kris Commons scored the only goal in the match between Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb, and while the Croatians pressed for an equaliser for the full match, the Scottish defence held firm. Celtic now lead Group D tied with Red Bull Salzburg, and with lowly Astra Giurgiu next on the schedule, things are looking great for the Scottish champions.

Napoli remain on track in Group I after a 2-0 win over Slovan Bratislava, as Marek Hamsik and Gonzalo Higuain found the back of the net for the Partenopei. Hamsik was the man of the match in his first-ever outing against his former club, temporarily lifting the pressure on manager Rafa Benitez.

The Italians already trail Serie A leaders Juventus and Roma by eight points, but their European form has been much better so far.

PSV Eindhoven suffered heartbreak in Russia, as Dynamo Moscow's Yuri Zhirkov scored the match's only goal deep in stoppage time. Football 24/7 shared the goal, which came after a lapse in concentration from Jeroen Zoet:

Fiorentina had no such issues in Belarus, recording a routine 3-0 win over Dinamo Minsk. Alberto Aquilani, Josip Ilicic and Federico Bernardeschi all got their names on the scoresheet, and with Guingamp's 2-0 win over PAOK Thessaloniki, La Viola are now in sole control the top spot in Group K.
