Villarreal vs. Real Madrid: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview

James DudkoSep 26, 2014

Real Madrid are in ominous form in La Liga, ahead of their trip to take on Villarreal. Los Blancos have hit 13 goals in their last two league fixtures.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti is ready for his team to really show its credentials in this season's title. The Italian could only muster a third-place finish in the last campaign, but did win the club's 10th European Cup.

As for Villarreal, the Yellow Submarine isn't as potent as it was in the middle of the last decade. However, the club is always tough at El Madrigal.

Villarreal ought to be fearful of a Madrid forward line that has been destroying opponents recently. In particular, Cristiano Ronaldo is already putting together a phenomenal season.

He has scored nine goals in La Liga, per WhoScored.com, including seven in his last two appearances. But a less heralded player is becoming almost as important as Real's Portuguese powerhouse up front.

Central midfielder Toni Kroos has been a model of efficiency since signing from FC Bayern Munich this summer. His tireless work rate and smart distribution are key factors in the number of chances created for Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and striker Karim Benzema.

In spite of the distance his coach makes him cover on the pitch, Kroos hasn't faltered once. The midfielder has played all nine matches Real Madrid has disputed so far this season, from start to finish. The German dynamo has only missed 45 minutes of the playing time, during the second half of the return leg in the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico.

"

If Kroos is allowed to run the show at the Madrigal, then Villarreal defenders such as Argentine Mateo Musacchio will be in for a torrid time. It will be important for skilled midfield players such as the cerebral Javier Espinosa and rugged Ruben Gracia to try and wrest control of possession away from Kroos.

Predicted Final Score: Villarreal 2-4 Real Madrid

Los Merengues just boast too much firepower. At the moment, all of their forwards are in top form. Expect Ronaldo and Bale to inflict too much early damage at El Madrigal.
