
Justin Forsett, Lorenzo Taliaferro's Fantasy Outlook with Bernard Pierce Injured
Folks who picked up Justin Forsett on earlier in the season—only to watch Bernard Pierce re-establish himself as Baltimore's top option in the running game in Week 2—might have been thinking they were getting a return on their investment Sunday, as Pierce was questionable to play.
That wasn't exactly the case, however, as instead Lorenzo Taliaferro had his coming-out party.

After failing to register a carry in the first two weeks, it was Taliaferro who carried the ball 18 times for 91 yards and a score. That production easily trumped Forsett, who finished with 15 touches for 65 yards and no scores.

Forsett had already proven his worth for fantasy owners this season, rushing 11 times for 70 yards and a touchdown while adding five catches for 14 yards in Week 1, so Pierce's exclusion from the lineup appeared to benefit him.
Instead, it was Taliaferro who took over Pierce's role while Forsett remained as the change-of-pace back. Going forward, Taliaferro should be considered the handcuff to Pierce while Forsett has value with or without Pierce in the lineup given his role on the team but should never be considered more than a flex option in deeper leagues.
