Tim Tebow Makes 'Good Morning America' Debut: Comments, Highlights and Reaction
Tim Tebow's transition from polarizing NFL quarterback to multimedia star continued Monday, as the former Heisman winner joined Good Morning America to debut his "Motivate Me Monday" series.
ABC announced last week that Tebow would join the morning talk show as a regular contributor. Appearing every Monday, his motivational series aims to feature "individuals and their amazing stories of triumph," according to the ABC release.
That journey began with the uplifting story of Deven Jackson, a 10-year-old boy from Pennsylvania who plays football on prosthetic legs after losing them after a bout with meningitis in 2012. Tebow visited with Jackson while illuminating his story in the segment that began just after the 8 a.m. ET hour.

"Deven Jackson is unstoppable and an inspiration! YOU motivate me, Deven. #MotivateMeMonday," Tebow wrote in an Instagram post.
"It was truly awesome. Deven was smiling the whole time," Michelle Jackson, Deven's mother, told . "He went to bed with a smile on his face and woke up with a smile and he's still talking about it."
While a controversial figure on the field, it seems his work off of it is already drawing rave reviews. ABC News meteorologist Rob Marciano complimented his new colleague on the story:
Robin Roberts, herself the source of motivation for many, also gave Tebow a "warm" welcome:
The Broncos have long since moved on from their #Tebowmania era and are quite satisfied with having Peyton Manning at the helm. That doesn't mean people in Denver have forgotten. Christine Chang of 7NEWS (ABC) in Denver also tweeted to welcome Tebow to the family:
Same goes for GMA booking producer Katie Conway:
Then again, I'm not sure how friendly the (facetious) punch emoji is there, ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez:
Think it's only the ABC community supporting Tebow? Think again. He also has a pretzel giant at his side. Bill Dunn, the president and COO of Auntie Anne's, also sent out his support:
As for Tebow himself, he seems to be enjoying his new digs. In Instagram posts released by himself and GMA, the former first-round pick was acclimating himself well to his surroundings:
Despite the fact he'll be two years removed from the NFL at the end of 2014, Tebow has consistently maintained his No. 1 goal is continuing his professional football career. He's training in between television gigs, hoping to prove he's at least worth a shot as a backup or long-term project. (In addition to his work on GMA, Tebow is one of the hosts of SEC Nation on the SEC Network.)
Whether that happens is anyone's guess. But it's pretty clear based on the reaction Monday that Tebow has a future in broadcasting—one that comes with far less criticism than he received when lining up under center.
