Kirk Cousin's Updated Fantasy Outlook After Robert Griffin III's Injury
It looks like Kirk Cousins may have just became the most popular player on the waiver wire this week.
The Washington quarterback came in to replace Robert Griffin III after the latter had to be carted off the field during the team's Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Washington's official Twitter account revealed the news:
Bleacher Report's Will Carroll was quick to weigh in on Griffin's injury:
As though there wasn't enough fuel on the fire for the folks that feel Cousins should be the starter over RG3—however misguided that viewpoint might be—Cousins promptly threw for a touchdown to Darrel Young on his first pass of the season.
In all, Cousins finished with 250 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and 18 fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues. Not too shabby from the backup.
If indeed Griffin is shelved for the foreseeable future, Cousins becomes a borderline QB1 and certainly a high-end QB2 given the weapons he has on offense, including Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. Although, it's worth noting Jackson left the game shortly after Griffin, per Mike Wise of The Washington Post:
Not a great start for Washington on Sunday, to say the least.
If Jackson's injury is indeed serious—and Griffin remains out as well—Cousins' fantasy stock is diminished somewhat.
But for a player who has proven to be a more than adequate NFL quarterback, he certainly has value to fantasy owners if Griffin is out in the long term, as it looks he might be.
