As Manchester United are set to clash with Burnley and searching for their first Premier League win under Louis van Gaal, the manager was defiant, if not standoffish, in defending his players. 

Van Gaal was displeased with Roy Hodgson's shots aimed at young left-back Luke Shaw that he needs to get in better shape. 

Chelsea flop Fernando Torres is off to Milan, and Alvaro Negredo has been told that he's staying at Manchester City.
