Original Text
After losing Sam Bradford for the season before it even got underway, the Rams' offense potentially took another big hit Sunday after it was announced that running back Zac Stacy went down with calf injury against the Eagles.
Jeff Darlington of NFL Network announced the news:
Stacy was one of St. Louis' biggest bright spots from the 2013 campaign. The fifth-round draft pick ran for 973 yards and seven touchdowns on 250 carries as a rookie last year. Replacing a former Pro Bowler and fan favorite is never easy, but Stacy had no trouble picking up from where Steven Jackson left off when he headed to the Atlanta Falcons.
With Stacy out, though, more pressure is heaped upon Austin Davis and the passing game. Benny Cunningham is next in line for carries. Tre Mason was inactive for Week 5, but one could assume he would be active in Week 6 should Stacy be unable to participate.
The NFC West is one of the toughest conference in the NFL. The Rams never really looked like favorites to make the playoffs before Stacy's injury, but with the talented running back out, that task became that much more difficult.
