#19 Boston College @ #15 Georgia Tech-Eagles and Yellow Jackets gear up for a premiere early season ACC Matchup.
All eyes of the ACC will be looking down upon Atlanta tonight as two of the top teams in the conference do battle.
For Boston College(2-0), it's their first time playing Georgia Tech(2-0) as an ACC foe. They come in riding high after already beating division foes Wake Forest and North Carolina State.
For Georgia Tech they have yet to be tested in conference play but have looked very impressive thrashing Notre Dame by 30 and scoring 69 on weak Samford.
This game should be a real thriller; Seeing Tashard Choice (8.3 YPR) and Johnathan Dwyer (11.8 YPR) each with 4 touchdowns on the season going up against the stingy Boston College run defense. For Georgia Tech to be successful they need to jump out early. If they can get BC behind in a night game with the crowd roaring it will be very tough for the Eagles to get out of a hole. But if BC can take the crowd out early I see Matt Ryan having a huge night. Also, look for Taylor Bennett to have a good game, BC's defense has been really bend but don't break this season, he should throw for a lot of yards and if he doesn't make mistakes like Harrison Beck last week GT should have no trouble.
On the visiting side for the Eagles, they must limit their turnovers and control the clock. In their 3 losses last season all were night games, on the road. In all of those games BC would turn the ball over and their offense would look terrible. Georgia Tech's run defense has almost mirrored BC's. Matt Ryan needs to get the ball to his receivers for BC to win. Andre Calendar had a good game last week but couldn't do anything agaisnt Wake Forest whose defense is no where near GT's. Offense will be the key for BC in this one, if they can score, they will win. Both teams are 4th in the nation in rushing offense and defense respectivly. And as the ol' saying goes "a good defense will always beat a good offense".
In the end I see BC winning this one on a late field goal 24-21. A great game that could be the preview of the ACC championship.
