Honduras vs. Ecuador: Goals and Highlights from Group E Match

Ecuador battled back to keep their Round of 16 hopes alive with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ecuador. It was Ecuador's first win in a competitive match outside of Ecuador since 2009.ย 

Ecuador are now level Switzerland with three points in Group E, and with a better goal differential.ย 

Carlo Costly scored Honduras' first World Cup goal since 1982, capitalising from some sloppy Ecuadorian defending to give Honduras a 1-0 lead:

Enner Valencia hit an equaliser moments later, getting on the end of a long, low pass through the Honduran defence:ย

Valencia got his second and put Ecuador ahead with a headed goal off of a set piece in the 65th minute.ย
