Toni Kroos Expected to Stay with Bayern Munich, Says Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

According to a report from The Guardian's Marcus Christenson, Bayern Munich's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has made it very clear Manchester United target Toni Kroos will not be leaving the Bavarian giants anytime soon.

The midfielder had previously hinted at a potential move to the English Premier League, saying:

"

It is no secret that the Premier League is a possibility for me. But no one has come to any agreement with me and it will stay like this until the summer and, some time, a decision will be made. It is also no secret that the Premier League is not a bad league.

Bayern's honorary president and club legend Franz Beckenbauer warned the German international he was not indispensable and that his demands were out of line, per Christenson:

"

You have to make a decision as a club when someone's demands are going through the roof. There is not a single player who's worth changing your entire wage structure for. Nobody's indispensable. If the player wants to stay at Bayern, I can only advise him not to overplay his hand.

"

But now Rummenigge has come out with a strong guarantee that the player would be part of Bayern's setup next season.

Within minutes of the initial report, Bild Bayern claimed the midfielder had officially signed a new deal with the club, as shared by ESPN's Janusz Michallik:

Jan Aage Fjortoft claims such reports are premature, however:

The news would be another blow in what has been a very disappointing season for Manchester United, as the German midfielder was believed to be at the top of their wishlist for this summer's transfer window.

With excellent skills as a distributor and a remarkable technique, Kroos has quickly ascended up the ladder of Europe's finest playmakers and has become a vital component of Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich.

Reports the player was unhappy with his current wages and his club's unwillingness to double his current salary of £4 million (reported by Bild, via The Mirror's Ben Burrows) were somewhat surprising given the player's impact at the Allianz Arena this season, and threatened to derail the relationship between club and player.

New signings like Mario Goetze (who could technically play in Kroos' position in midfield) and the soon-to-be added Robert Lewandowski make far more than the aforementioned €4 million in wages, making Kroos' demands somewhat understandable.

But the player's decision to air his grievances in the press were not appreciated by the Bavarians' management, and while everyone expected an eventual solution for the playerwho has been with the club since 2006a messy divorce became more and more likely with every passing day.

Rummenigge has now apparently decided not to let things come to that, all but ending United's dream of capturing the German international.
