Liverpool's Luis Suarez Named Player of the Season by Premier League Managers
Premier League managers have voted Luis Suarez this year's player of the season as part of Barclays' "Thank You" campaign.
Liverpool's Uruguayan hitman dominated this particular category in the midseason ballot, perย Sky Sports: "All 20 Premier League managers voted as part of a survey by the Barclays 'Thank you' campaign, with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez chosen as the player of the season so far and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey thought of as the best youngster."
Plaudits comeย as part of the division's push to show appreciation toward "fans, community heroes, players and managers who help make the Barclays Premier League what it is," per the organisation's official website.

Suarez's season has yielded 25 goals and 10 assists in 24 games, per WhoScored.com. He is the current Premier League top scorer, seven clear of teammate Daniel Sturridge and 10 in front of his nearest non-Liverpool competitor, reported by BBC Sport.
OptaJoe revealed the impressiveness of his achievement with one rather telling stat:
Alvaro Negredo was also outlined as the best summer signing. Manuel Pellegrini, the man who brought the Spaniard to Manchester City, was recognised for turning the Etihad club into title favourites after last year's inability to retain the title.

Tony Pulis and Mauricio Pochettino received praise for their respective performances this campaign. Pulis has pushed Crystal Palace away from the relegation zone after taking over from Ian Holloway in November but will need a strong finish to ensure the Eagles don't return to the Championship after a single season.
Although Palace have recently faltered with one win in their last six matches, recorded by WhoScored.com, Pulis' team are three points clear of the relegation zone after appearing certainties for the drop before the turn of the year.
Pochettino has turned Southampton into one of the Premier League's most entertaining sides. His emphasis on smooth, attacking football has given Saints an outside chance of making the Europa League. The Argentinian manager has also helped propel Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez and Luke Shaw to the international stage with England.
Supporters were also in the limelight during the vote, as Liverpool and Manchester United followers were ranked amongst the best by the managers who have come up against them, per the Premier League website:ย "Forty per cent of the managers named Anfield as having the best atmosphere when they take their team to play there, while Manchester United supporters are considered the loudest away fans."

While these accolades mean very little at this stage of the season, it's interesting to gauge how Premier League managers see the division in which they compete. Suarez is likely to receive the official player of the season award at the conclusion of the current campaignโespecially considering Liverpool's continued fight for the title.
It's perhaps surprising Brendan Rodgers wasn't included in the managers' vote, but for Pellegrini, Pulis and Pochettino, the praise is also justified. All three will hope they remain as competitive toward the latter end of the year.
The vote should be seen as a moment of fun in this hectic campaign, but as highlighted above, the results are more than indicative of who should be most proud of their recent achievements.
