Kim Kallstrom May Make Arsenal Debut Against Tottenham

Kim Kallstrom may finally make his Arsenal debut against Tottenham Sunday, having not appeared for the Gunners since arriving in January.

The Swedish midfielder arrived at the Emirates from Spartak Moscow with an injured back, but Arsene Wenger has indicated that he is close to a recovery.

According to Goal.com, the Arsenal boss was reported as saying:

"

Kallstrom joins the normal training group today [Thursday] and Sanogo, too.

I will have to decide if Kallstrom is OK to be in the squad on Sunday. I will see how he looks, it is not impossible.

"

Wenger knew when he signed the 31-year-old midfielder that he had an injury but had no alternative than to bring him to the club.

Arsenal fans may now finally get to see their new signing in action when the club travel to White Hart Lane at the weekend.

They will be looking to bounce back from their aggregate loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, which saw them knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage for the second year in succession.

Mesut Ozil was injured during that match and will be out of action for a month, per BBC Sport.

Aaron Ramsey, arguably Arsenal's best player this season, will not make his return from injury against Tottenham.

With Arsenal seven points off Premier League leaders Chelsea with a game in hand, Sunday's game is a must-win match if they want to keep their title hopes alive. The return of Kallstrom could prove to have a positive effect on Wenger's team.

With the loss of Jack Wilshere and Ramsey's continued absence, Kallstrom could add some much-needed creativity in the middle of the park.
