Perhaps signaling that it's "back" among the nation's recruiting powerhouses, USC already boasts a commitment from 5-star quarterback Ricky Town. Among the country's top players regardless of position, Town will serve as a key attraction for the Trojans' recruiting efforts going forward.

He's the type of player you build a recruiting class around, and that's exactly what USC figures to do with its 2015 class. With California being exceptionally deep this year, the Trojans are bound to lure several elite recruits to play with Town in Troy.

A 5-star cornerback from an old pipeline is a great possibility to join Town, while a fairly new USC pipeline has a pair of 5-star defenders who could lead the Trojans' defense one day. Also, a couple receivers appear to like the idea of catching passes from Town.

Player evaluations are based on review of tape at Scout.comRivals and 247Sports.

Dechaun Holiday, DB

Dechaun Holiday is a 4-star defensive back who has the ability to play safety and cornerback. He's a California native who is 6'2" and 195 pounds, and he already shows advanced ball skills.

Holiday has great transition quickness to shoot out of his backpedal, which helps him play with a lot of range. He never loses site of the ball from the secondary, and he has the hands to pluck passes for interceptions if quarterbacks aren't careful.

USC is his leader at the moment, according to 247Sports.

Cameron Smith, LB

Cameron Smith is a classic inside linebacker whose main speciality is filling alleys versus running plays. At 6'2" and 225 pounds, Smith has no issues challenging offensive linemen at the point of attack.

He explodes upon contact, and he has the ability to shed and make stops near the line of scrimmage. Smith has above-average range from the middle of the field, plus he'll claw and fight to stay with running backs and tight ends in coverage.

USC and UCLA are the California native's top schools, per 247Sports

Kanya Bell, WR

3 of 10

At 6'0" and 160 pounds, Kanya Bell isn't one of the thickest recruits in the country, but he's one of the quickest. He's a 4-star receiver who is a run-after-catch specialist.

Bell, who is from California, has excellent acceleration and a terrific burst with the ball. He displays those qualities after showing off a quick upfield-transfer after the catch. He has outstanding vision in the open field, and just enough speed to make long runs.

USC leads UCLA, Texas A&M and Oregon, according to 247Sports.

Cordell Broadus, WR

Cordell Broadus is the son of Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg, but he's also a talented and athletic 4-star receiver prospect. He's originally from Los Angeles, but he now attends Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.

Broadus, who is 6'2" and 195 pounds, has great speed to climb on top of secondaries from the perimeter. He doesn't let the ball get into his body often, choosing to use his hands as much as possible.

If he can become a sharper and more precise route-runner, Broadus has a chance to be special.

Jacob Daniel, DT

A former Washington commit, 4-star defensive tackle Jacob Daniel could choose to follow many of the Huskies' old coaches to USC.

Daniel, who is 6'4" and 310 pounds, has outstanding strength and power in the trenches. He shows solid first-step quickness, plus he has the athleticism and closing speed to get to the ball in a flash.

Daniel's big motor is also an impressive quality. The Trojans are right in the middle of things, according to 247Sports.

Terry Beckner Jr., DE

USC would love to add more pass-rushers, and that's something 5-star defensive end Terry Beckner Jr. can help do. The Illinois native has a ton of raw talent, plus he's 6'4" and almost 270 pounds.

Beckner also has the strength to set the edge versus tight ends and offensive tackles to combat running plays. Once he gets better at using his mitts, he's going to be a good one.

USC and LSU are his top schools, according to 247Sports.

Christian Kirk, WR

7 of 10

Christian Kirk would be an outstanding weapon for Town on the outside at USC. The 5-star receiver is the top player in Arizona for the 2015 class due to his ability to burn defenses as a receiver and running back.

Kirk is 5'10" and 195 pounds, and his compact frame packs a ton of explosiveness. He releases off the line in a hurry before using his speed and quickness to separate from cornerbacks. After the catch, Kirk displays a natural feel for eluding defenders and weaving upfield through traffic.

USC will have to fight Alabama, UCLA, Texas and Florida State among other schools, according to 247Sports.

Rasheem Green, DT

8 of 10

Rasheem Green is a 5-star defensive tackle who attends Serra High School in the Gardena section of Los Angeles. The school has produced players such as Marqise Lee, Adoree' Jackson and Robert Woods in recent history.

It's easy to see what all three of those guys have in common, aside from being exceptionally talented players: they're all Trojans.

That's another reason why USC has a great shot with Green, who is 6'5" and 275 pounds. He's pretty raw at this stage, but his athleticism and quickness provide a foundation for huge upside.

John Houston, LB

9 of 10

At 6'3" and 205 pounds, 5-star linebacker John Houston has terrific range and speed. He has a knack for staying disciplined with his eyes on his reads, plus he can launch from the middle of the field to attack the ball with great short-area explosiveness.

Houston is a great athlete who has a ton of potential that should be fulfilled as he develops. He needs to add some weight to his frame, but that will come with time.

He also attends Serra High School in California, so you know.

Iman Marshall, CB

10 of 10

USC signed 5-star athlete JuJu Smith earlier this month. Smith attends national powerhouse Long Beach Poly High School, which also happens to be the home of 5-star cornerback Iman Marshall.

At 6'1" and 190 pounds, Marshall is a big cover man with outstanding anticipation skills and instincts. He has loose hips to smoothly come out of his backpedal, plus he displays good speed and closing quickness.

USC's chances with Marshall look great, according to 247Sports.

Adam Gorney of Rivals.com (subscription required) had this to say about Marshall, Houston and Green on Feb. 16:

Iman Marshall might not have had one single pass caught on him all junior season. John Houston and Rasheem Green had strong years as well.
