Latest World Cup Standings 📊

First half:

Valdes—has had nothing to do beyond the Boakye shot

Montoya—not really involved in too much in the final third yet, needs to offer better runs out wide

Bartra—solid enough, barely tested

Pique—same as Bartra, recycling possession

Alba—Barca's big out ball down the left, great constant pace

Song—quickly snuffing out any threat when Elche try to move forward

Xavi—having lots of time to spray his passes around and open up the Elche defence with through balls

Iniesta—embarked on a few winding runs but lacking end product at the moment

Pedro—took his goal well, might have had another. Superb movement

Cesc—involved heavily in link-up play but not much in the box

Alexis—making some good runs but could have had two or three if not for offside calls against him

Second half:

Valdes—a quiet return to the team

Montoya—much the same, not overly involved going forward, solid in the middle third

Bartra—an easy afternoon for both centre-backs

Pique—a few nice through-balls

Alba—silly yellow card for a needless challenge but always a threat on the left

Song—good game, nice retention of the ball

Xavi—poor penalty miss and subbed early

Iniesta—inventive and bright but just missing the final pass today

Pedro—great movement and a threat all game, should have scored more

Cesc—a little frustrated not to get more chances but he contributed well

Alexis—great hat-trick and took his goals well
