Top Scores
Malaga 0-1 Atletico Madrid

As one of the big three teams in La Liga, expectations were pretty high for Atletico Madrid heading into their game against Malaga. Instead, they got a bit of a scare, although they were able to still pull out the win.
Diego Costa, the top goalscorer in the league, was unable to make an impact in the game, with Malaga shutting him down quite effectively throughout the match. Atletico Madrid couldn't get anything to go in the first half, but they were finally able to grab a goal in the 70th minute, thanks to a nice strike by Koke.
While Malaga had 12 total shots compared to Atletico's nine, the home team only had three shots on goal, compared to their opponent's six. It was an ugly game overall with nine total yellow cards, but Atletico Madrid was able to get the win.
Even though it wasn't pretty, the win helped Atletico Madrid move into the top spot in the latest La Liga table. They will now wait to see if Barcelona can win their game on January 5, but if not, then they will be on top of the league, at least for now.
Almeria 3-0 Granada

As one of the teams near the relegation zone, Almeria needed a win to put some distance between themselves and the bottom of the league. They were able to do just that, thanks to a rather dominant win over Granada.
Sebastian Dubarbier was able to get things off to a nice start early to put Almeria up 1-0 just 14 minutes into the game. Just 14 minutes later, Verza scored on a penalty kick, and the score stayed at 2-0 entering half-time.
But Almeria wasn't done there. In the 79th minute, Alexis Vidal Parreu found the back of the net as well, and the game ended in a dominant 3-0 win for his team. For now, Almeria are able to move to No. 14 with 19 points, putting them in a better position to avoid relegation. For Granada, they stay at No. 12 and are still trying to move into the top half of the league.
