Arizona vs. Arizona State: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time and More

Jesse ReedJun 8, 2018

The Arizona Wildcats will attempt to play the role of spoiler when they take on Pac-12 rival Arizona State in the 2013 Dual in the Desert on Saturday.

The Sun Devils won the Territorial Cup last year, thanks to a thrilling 41-34 victory.

ASU has been surging up the BCS standings since losing to Stanford and Notre Dame earlier this year. With a record of 9-2 (7-1 in the Pac-12), the Sun Devils are in position to be featured in a prominent bowl game with another win this weekend.

Additionally, a victory by the Sun Devils would ensure they host the Pac-12 Championship game.

Arizona enters the game on a high note, having destroyed Oregon last weekend in one of the biggest shockers of the 2013 college football season. The Wildcats had lost two games in a row before that contest, and the team is just 4-4 in the Pac-12.

Not surprisingly, ASU is the clear-cut favorite to win the Territorial Cup for the second year in a row. But as we saw last weekend, the Wildcats won't go down easily.

Here's a look at when and where you can catch the action, along with odds, injury reports and a closer look at the biggest key to the game.

When: Saturday, Nov. 30, at 9:30 p.m. ET

Where: Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, Ariz.

Can Ka'Deem Carey Carry Arizona to Victory?

If you haven't been keeping track of Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey this year, you've been missing out on watching one of the nation's top players at any position.

Carey comes into the game as the nation's No. 5 running back in terms of yardage (1,559) and No. 6 in touchdown runs (16). He has impressively rushed for at least 119 yards in every game he's started this season, cracking 200 yards twice and scoring multiple touchdowns in four games.

The diminutive junior standout's most recent performance stands out as his finest. He almost single-handedly led Arizona over Oregon last weekend, with 48 carries for 206 yards and four touchdowns.

Arizona State's defense is adept at shutting down the run, however, and Carey will have a much tougher time pounding out yardage against this Sun Devils front seven. Allowing just 123.4 yards per game and 3.67 yards per carry, ASU features the nation's No. 19 run defense.

If Carey can consistently make positive gains, Arizona will have a shot at winning this game. However, if the Sun Devils shut him down, they'll easily win at home.

Prediction

Lightning doesn't often strike twice in the same spot, and it's similarly unlikely Arizona has another upset in reserve after last weekend's emotionally charged victory over Oregon.

However, ASU quarterback Taylor Kelly must play better on Saturday night than he has of late for the Sun Devils to come out with a win at home. In his last three games, Kelly has thrown just two touchdowns and two interceptions.

But the Sun Devils have found ways to win all year long, and there's no reason to think they won't do the same Saturday night in front of their home crowd.

In a year when Stanford and Oregon have fallen short of expectations, the Sun Devils have a chance to make a huge statement by winning the Pac-12 Championship. With that goal in mind, you can count on nothing but the highest degree of focus and execution from this team this weekend.

Final Score

Arizona State wins 41-28.
