Indiana vs. Ohio State: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time and More

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

On the bright side for No. 3 Ohio State, the Buckeyes will face an outclassed Indiana team this Saturday with very little fear of falling from the ranks of the undefeated. On the negative side, there have been far too many opponents like this for the Buckeyes.

Urban Meyer and his young men face the prospect of going undefeated for two consecutive years and not getting a chance to play for the national title.

The only thing the Buckeyes can do to try and edge its way into the title game is to keep playing good football, win games convincingly and hope for a few losses between Alabama, Florida State and probably Baylor.

Indiana (4-6) rides into this game suffering a bleak season that isn't getting any better as it rolls along. The Hoosiers have lost four of their last five. They are over 30-point underdogs this week, and it's hard to find a reason to think the Hoosiers can beat that spread.

Key Storyline: Will Indiana's passing offense find success?

Things haven't been working out well for Indiana this season. One thing that has produced, however, is the passing offense. At 306.9 yards per game, the Hoosiers are 17th in the nation in passing, which has helped them post the 15th most points per game in the nation.

Considering that the Hoosiers are 117th in the nation in points allowed, if Indiana is going to stay competitive in this game, it is going to have to put up some points.

Last week, playing their first ranked opponent of the year (Wisconsin), the Hoosiers mustered just three points and 224 yards of offense. Starting quarterback Nate Sudfeld was just 9-of-22 passing for 99 yards and an interception.

Needless to say, the Hoosiers are going to need a vastly better performance than that in this game.

Prediction: Ohio State 61, Indiana 17

The Buckeyes aren't going to give the Hoosiers a chance in this game. Considering their situation in the national championship picture, Urban Meyer is going to have his troops focused and ready to flex their muscle. This will be too much for Indiana to withstand.
