Mississippi State vs Texas A&M: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time, More

Jun 8, 2018

The No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies are back on track heading into a matchup with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Johnny Manziel and the Aggies have won two straight by a total margin of 113-31 to retain their third place spot in the SEC West. The Heisman contender Manziel has been especially sharp as of late, with 656 total yards and 10 touchdowns in that span.

The Bulldogs travel to Kyle Field after a 34-16 loss to then-ranked No. 14 South Carolina, as Mississippi State's defense, that allows just over 28 points per game, faltered.

Can Texas A&M Remain Focused?

With two losses on the record, the Aggies have so far found themselves focused and firing on all cylinders during an easy portion of the schedule before things get serious again.

One more game to go.

The Bulldogs are the immediate danger for the Aggies, but road games against No. 13 LSU and No. 8 Missouri to close out the season loom large on the horizon.

Remember that Texas A&M is also just three weeks removed from a crushing upset at the hands of Auburn.

An offense that ranks fourth in the nation at an even 49 points per game must remain focused on the task at hand, which is a top-50 Bulldogs defense. Meanwhile, a miserable Aggies defense that ranks No. 80 in the nation must shore up any remaining issues before the final two games of the year.

Prediction

Last year the Aggies went to Davis Wade Stadium and emerged victorious 38-13 over the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State has a tall order on the road, and may be without starting quarterback Dak Prescott, whose status is up in the air after a family tragedy, per Michael Bonner of the Clarion Ledger.

The other option for the Bulldogs is former star Tyler Russell, who threw for 2,897 yards and 24 scores last year, but lost his job to Prescott this year.

Regardless of who is under center, the Bulldogs average under 30 points per game, a threshold the Aggies have surpassed in each contest, not to mention a 42-burger on the nation's No. 1 defense in a loss to Alabama.

Aggies win big again.

Final Score

Aggies win 45-28
