Biggest Winners
Liverpool
Luis Suarez provided the heroics for Liverpool, delivering a wonderful hat trick (in the first 55 minutes, no less). The controversial 26-year-old showed his remarkable talent yet again as he notched his fourth career hat trick with Liverpool.
His prolific teammate Daniel Sturridge also found the back of the net, giving Liverpool a 4-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion. Sturridge scored his eighth goal of the season in the 77th minute.
With the victory, the Reds improved to 6-2-1 on the season. They trail only Arsenal in the standings. The two squads will face each other on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Everton
Romelo Lukaku and Leon Osman each scored for Everton, who picked up a crucial victory to keep pace with Liverpool and Arsenal atop the EPL table.
Lukaku struck first against Aston Villa, scoring in the 68th minute. Osman sealed the 2-0 win in the 81st.
With the win, Everton improved to 5-3-1.
They are now just four points behind Arsenal and two behind Liverpool. If they can pick up wins over Tottenham (Nov. 3) and Crystal Palace (Nov. 9), Everton will be in prime position heading into a Nov. 23 meeting with Liverpool.
Southampton
Southampton leapfrogged several teams on the table following their 2-0 victory over Fulham.
The Saints completely dominated throughout, suffocating the Fulham offense and pressuring keeper Maarten Stekelenburg. Southampton had 20 shots on goal, and Rickie Lambert ('20) and Jay Rodriguez ('42) provided the points.
Southampton now sits near the top of the table. With upcoming games against Stoke City and Sunderland, Southampton should be 7-3-1 entering their Nov. 13 showdown with Arsenal.
