College Football Week 6 Schedule: TV and Live Stream Info for Every Game
Week 6 of the college football season offers up some cream puffs for top teams, but there are also some interesting games that will carry a big impact on the rankings.
Two of these matchups stick out above the others. The first is No. 4 Ohio State traveling to take on No. 16 Northwestern on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
Both teams enter the game undefeated, and Ohio State does so right in the thick of the national championship picture. Still, the Buckeyes have something to prove. Last week, they hosted Wisconsin and prevailed 31-24. That was their first win of the season over a ranked opponent.
This week should be an even tougher task. Northwestern hasn't beaten a ranked opponent yet this year. However, we get somewhat of an indication that these two teams are close by their one common opponent this season. Both the Buckeyes and the Wildcats have played at California; the Buckeyes triumphed by 18 and the Wildcats prevailed by 14.
Both of these teams feature outstanding ground games and solid defenses, so this should set up for a fun matchup.
The other marquee matchup of the week will take place in Stanford Stadium as the No. 5 Cardinal host the No. 15 Washington Huskies on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Stanford has physically dominated opponents this year, but Washington should provide a stiff test. Behind the prodigious work of running back Bishop Sankey, the Huskies have the nation's 11th-ranked rushing offense. With quarterback Keith Price, the Huskies also have balance on offense when they need it.
Considering they are on the road, the Huskies definitely have their work cut out for them. However, they did pull out a nice road win earlier in the year by beating Illinois 34-24.
There is just one other matchup involving two teams in the top 25, and that is No. 25 Maryland traveling to take on No. 8 Florida State.
Florida State's freshman quarterback Jameis Winston will look to continue his scintillating season. Yet he will be facing a Maryland defense that is coming off a shutout and is allowing and average of 10.3 points per game this season.
Take a full look at when and where you can catch those games and all of the other college action for Week 6.
