Last season, Barcelona lost just two games in La Liga, a pretty remarkable feat.

One of those losses came against Real Madrid, while the other was a more perplexing 3-2 loss at Real Sociedad. 

But Barca won this home fixture 5-1 last season and, given Real Sociedad's shaky form so far this campaign, a similar result would hardly be shocking.

Let's break down this mid-week La Liga showdown.

Barcelona have enjoyed a dominant start to the La Liga season, taking all 15 points in their first five matches with an impressive goal differential of plus-14.

The Catalans couldn't have asked for a better start to the campaign. 

Any concerns over Neymar taking time to adjust to European football have been soothed with one goal and four assists in eight appearances.

Pedro has five goals in seven appearances, including a hat trick against Rayo Vallecano, while Cesc Fabregas already has five assists. Lionel Messi already has nine goals (though, honestly, that figure isn't surprising). 

How do you stop Barcelona? You block their entrance to the stadium, that's how. 

Real Sociedad will be disappointed after taking just six points from their first five La Liga games and losing 2-0 to Shakhtar Donetsk in their first Champions League group stage match.

Now, they have to travel to Camp Nou. 

For the visitors to steal a point, someone—perhaps Carlos Vela or Haris Seferovic—will need to produce a big performance. Given the state of both clubs at the moment, it's hard to imagine Real Sociedad putting up much of a fight.

Prediction

Barcelona have allowed just four goals in La Liga this season, the same number as Real Sociedad have scored. This one could get ugly fast for the visitors. 

The best bet for Real Sociedad is scoring an early goal, stealing a bit of momentum, defending like gangbusters and finding another tally on the counter-attack.

Given Barcelona's recent form, however, it's an unlikely script.
