US Open Tennis 2013 Weather: Complete Forecast for Remainder of Tournament
Besides a few showers that briefly suspended play in the early rounds, the weather through the first week at the 2013 U.S. Open was quite favorable.
According to Weather.com, there'll be a strong likelihood of thunderstorms to start the second week of action, but tennis fans can expect to see dark skies give way to sunshine as the week wears on. Winds shouldn't be too big a factor, either, as they're not projected to exceed 10 miles per hour at any point this coming week.
Below we'll take a closer look at the complete forecast for the remaining rounds of the U.S. Open and preview what's to come.

Potential Blockbuster Matchups
There are several highly anticipated matchups that could take place in the men's singles draw in the coming rounds. If both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer can win on Monday, the two would meet in an epic quarterfinal clash in the middle of the week.
Nadal has won all three matchups with Federer in 2013, but the two superstars have never met at the U.S. Open.
At the top of the men's draw, the two most recent U.S. Open champions, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, could soon face each other in the semifinals later in the week. The two 26-year-old rivals have met in the final at three of the past four Grand Slam events, with Murray getting the better of Djokovic at last year's U.S. Open and Wimbledon earlier this summer.
With Djokovic, Nadal and Murray having each won a Slam in 2013, the U.S. Open will offer each an opportunity to leave a lasting impression on tennis fans this season.
Championship Rematch?
Before the tournament began, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka were considered the two favorites to reach the women's singles final. Sure enough, both have looked stellar through the early rounds.
The two rivals met in last year's U.S. Open final, with Williams surviving Azarenka in a hard-fought three-set match. But Azarenka has made up significant ground on the 16-time Grand Slam champion over the past year, beating her twice in 2013, most recently in the final at Cincinnati.
With Maria Sharapova out with a shoulder injury, the top two players in women's tennis look poised to meet again this September.
Azarenka is developing into a hard-court juggernaut while Williams boasts the best serve in the women's game. Therefore, a matchup between the two on tennis' grandest stage this summer at the U.S. Open would be must-see television.
