Week 1 in the NFL rapidly approaches, which means teams need to trim their rosters down from the maximum 90 they were allowed for training camp to the 53 men required for the regular season.
The Cincinnati Bengals need to reduce their ranks to 75 by Tuesday afternoon and then down to 53 by 6 p.m. ET on Saturday. Here, we'll update every player released and depth chart rearranging, from the first cut to the last.

The Cincinnati Bengals have reduced their roster to the league-required 53 players. Here are those who did not survive the final round of cuts on Saturday:
In addition, running back Bernard Scott will start the season on the injured reserve-recall list, allowing him to come back after Week 6.
A quick scan of the young players released by the Bengals on Saturday belies some of their plans for the practice squad. Names that stand out to be part of that group include defensive tackle Terrence Stephens, linebacker J.K. Schaffer and cornerback Onterio McCalebb.
This round of cuts cements Orson Charles as the team's starting fullback. Dontay Moch, whom the Bengals were reportedly looking to trade, must not have generated much interest as he was released on Saturday.
Most interesting is the release of running back Dan Herron after a strong preseason and the fact that presently the Bengals have but five linebackers on their 53-man roster; they could, however, add another one in free agency in the coming days. The Bengals are also thin at offensive tackle after releasing both Dennis Roland and Reid Fragel.
Previewing and Analyzing the Practice Squad

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced their practice squad, with seven players signed of a possible eight. The players are as follows:
None of the signings are surprises. After their roster was reduced to 53 it was believed many of the younger players released would wind up on the practice squad. The only notable absence is defensive tackle Terrence Stephens, but based on what the Bengals may decide about injured receiver Andrew Hawkins, Stephens could make an appearance on the squad in the coming days.

Injury Notes
Right tackle Andre Smith's knee injury isn't serious, and he should be ready for the regular season, but left tackle Andrew Whitworth still has no timetable for his return. Whitworth has an injured knee that has been bothering him throughout training camp.
Wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, meanwhile, is out of the walking boot he's been wearing while coming back from an ankle sprain, which makes him less likely to miss too much regular season time.
Defensive end Carlos Dunlap is working his way back from a concussion he suffered in training camp.

On the physically unable to perform list:
None of the Bengals cuts were all that shocking in their first round of releases. The harder decisions appear to be coming by Saturday evening, when the roster must be reduced to 53 players.

Free Agents the Bengals Have Signed or Are Rumored to Be Pursuing
Chris Wesseling and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com are both reporting that waived former New York Jets quarterback Greg McElroy is heading for the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad soon; the question is whether he arrives there as a released player or one who received an injury settlement from New York.
Pro Football Talk reports that the Bengals will be re-signing offensive tackle Dennis Roland.
