Karla Villegas GamaJun 4, 2018

The transfer window has brought some interesting changes into world football. Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo, Kolo Toure, Maarten Stekelenburg, Paulinho and Neymar are some of the players who have already landed deals with world-class clubs.

But there is still time for more and the rumours keep coming.

With less than a month until the transfer window closes, clubs are still hoping to sign the right footballers to reinforce their squads.

The spotlight is all over this beautiful sport, so join me to find out the latest buzz.

Daniel Agger

1 of 8

Barcelona are still looking for a centre-back and Daniel Agger is one of the players topping their wish-list.

The Daily Mail revealed that Barça offered £17 million to Liverpool. However, Spanish newspaper AS reports that the Reds have rejected the deal.

Gerardo Martino wants to sign a defender soon but things have not gone his way so far.

Xabi Alonso

Xabi Alonso's contract with Real Madrid expires next summer and the rumours about his departure are rife.

Football Espana reports that Fiorentina are ready to make a bid for the Spanish midfielder; meanwhile, the Daily Star assures us that Liverpool are also interested in getting Alonso back.

Gareth Bale

The Gareth Bale saga continues. Marca reports that the Welshman wants to make his move to Real Madrid official as soon as possible.

However, The Independent has brought a new contender to the race and it is none other than Premier League heavyweights Manchester United.

Although the Red Devils have not made an offer, the newspaper suggests any deal could include Javier Hernandez.

Diego Costa

Earlier this month SkySports reported that Liverpool had made a £20 million bid for the Atletico de Madrid striker.

However, Marca is convinced that Diego Costa has agreed to stay with the Spanish club at least until 2015.

Costa was the top scorer in the 2012-2013 Copa del Rey. He ultimately won the tournament with "Atleti" after scoring the first goal in the final against Real Madrid.

At the age of 24, Costa is one of the most promising strikers in world football, strong and with a fine touch.

Ezequiel Garay

5 of 8

The transfer of Ezequiel Garay to Manchester United is not a done deal just yet. According to the Daily Star Sunday, the English club are ready to pay £12.9 million for the defender but Benfica are asking £21.5 million.

The newspaper also reports that the Argentina international is not thinking of the possible transfer and is completely focused on his team.

Before moving to Portugal, Garay played in La Liga for Racing Santander and Real Madrid. However, he did not have much game time with the latter when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

Luiz Gustavo

6 of 8

The rumours regarding Luiz Gustavo's exit from Bayern Munich continue to grow. Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport has linked the Brazil international with Napoli.

However, the Partenopei have to meet the €18 million buyout clause that the German club set for the midfielder.

Something else to consider is that the Italian club just paid £34.5 million for Gonzalo Higuain and it may be tough for them to make another big investment.

David Luiz

The Chelsea defender has been linked with Barcelona since last week, according to SkySports. The Brazil international was recently questioned about the possible move but refused to talk about the issue.

Dani Alves has expressed his delight at the potential move and would welcome his fellow countryman with open arms.

However, the transfer will not be easy. Mirror Football revealed that Chelsea have already rejected a bid of £35 million.

Luka Modric

8 of 8

After 33 appearances and three goals with Real Madrid, Luka Modric might be heading back to the Premier League.

The Guardian has reported that Manchester United may try to bring the Croat to Old Trafford after Cesc Fabregas rejected a possible move.

If David Moyes wants to sign Modric, he had better be ready to pay at least £25 million.
