LA Galaxy vs. Milan: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and More
The defending MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy will take on Italian powerhouse A.C. Milan on Wednesday evening in Miami.
But this is no friendly matchup. The stakes have been raised as the two well-known clubs will be battling for third place in this summer's 2013 International Champions Cup, an eight-team exhibition tournament that has featured some of the biggest clubs and players on the planet.
L.A. and Milan played to a 2-2 draw in a friendly matchup back in 2009, but there can be no draw this time around.
Here, we'll get you set with everything you need to know for Wednesday's much-anticipated third-place match.
Where: Sun Life Stadium in Miami
When: Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET

How We Got Here
L.A. and Milan each took two very different routes to the this week's third-place match.
Milan defeated Valencia 2-1 behind enemy lines in the opening round to reach the semifinals, where it lost to Chelsea, 2-0. Meanwhile, the Galaxy fell 3-1 to Real Madrid in the first round, but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Juventus to finish ahead of semifinalist Everton in goal differential.
The Toffees would have to settle for the fifth-place game.
L.A. Galaxy Player to Watch: Landon Donovan
Whether he starts or comes off the bench on Wednesday, veteran midfielder Landon Donovan will be the player to watch for the reigning MLS champions.
Donovan is coming off a remarkable performance for the U.S. men's national team at the 2013 Gold Cup last month, in which he won Golden Ball honors. More importantly, he scored the go-ahead goal for L.A. in the club's 3-1 victory over Juventus on Saturday night.
But Donovan doesn't have to score to make his presence felt in Miami on Wednesday.
He recorded over a half a dozen assists in six matches at the Gold Cup and is an unselfish star. If he's on the pitch and operating at full speed, the Galaxy have a real shot to overcome Milan and take third place in this summer's tournament.
Milan Player to Watch: Mario Balotelli
A mercurial star, Mario Balotelli rarely fails to entertain.
Although the talented striker can sometimes lose his cool and focus on the pitch, when he's on top of his game, there are few if any defenders in the world who can slow him.
Balotelli only managed one shot in Milan's 2-0 loss to Chelsea on Sunday, so he shouldn't be lacking in motivation against L.A.
Keep in mind, though. This is a player who scored 12 goals in 13 appearances for Milan last season after coming over from Manchester City. Clearly, the 22-year-old can get hot and change a game at any moment.
Prediction
Each club enters Wednesday's consolation showdown having won a match and dropped a match at the International Champions Cup, so it's hard to pick a favorite.
While Milan is the more talented club overall, the Galaxy looked much better in the second round, scoring three goals and shutting out the Italian champions in the second half. Plus, the American squad will have a slight advantage playing in the U.S. as opposed to overseas.
Those two factors considered, look for the Galaxy to outlast a deflated Milan squad on Wednesday in Miami.
L.A. Galaxy 2, Milan 1
