Top Players to Watch

Landon Donovan, LA Galaxy

Donovan has been an absolute superstar for Team USA since bursting onto the scene back in 2000.

He’s been capped 150 times with the international squad and scored 46 goals and dished 47 assists, holding the all-time record in both categories.

While most casual fans know Donovan for his efforts on the big stage, he’s been a real force in MLS play with the Los Angeles Galaxy and in Europe, as the forward has been loaned to Bayern Munich and Everton over the past five years.

He’s a lightning-quick attacker that can create for himself as well as his teammates, which is why he’s going to be fun to watch in this exhibition contest.

With defenders playing a bit more relaxed than normal, you are almost guaranteed to see the 31-year-old stud score at least one amazing goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

Ronaldo is one of the world’s best players, and all eyes will be on him whenever Real Madrid takes to the pitch over the next two weeks.

It will be the club's 15th trip to the States—according to Ryan R of SeatGeek.com—and will likely be more exciting than the previous ones with Ronaldo in the prime of his career.

The 28-year-old is a goalscoring machine who already has 34 under his belt in 2013 alone, adding to his tremendous total.

The Portuguese megastar has scored more than 300 goals at the club level and added 39 more as a member of the senior national team.

He’s a prime candidate to take home the Golden Boot at the conclusion of the International Champions Cup.
