Manchester United vs. Singha All-Star XI: Date, Time, Stream, TV Info, Preview
This is by far the toughest on-field test that David Moyes has faced as manager of Manchester United, mostly because it's his first match.
As with many of the biggest European clubs, United is in the midst of a trek around the globe. It's a great way to add a couple more million to the financial coffers, while building the brand in new markets.
It's a world tour that sees the team start in Thailand, then go to Australia, Japan and Hong Kong while finishing up in Sweden.
The first stop sees the Red Devils taking on the Singha All-Star XI in Bangkok. It's a great opportunity for players looking to make a good impression on Moyes with their play on the pitch.
Here's the viewing info needed for this friendly, followed by three players to watch.
When: Saturday, July 13, at 9 p.m. ET (14:00 BST)
Where: Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand
Watch: FOX Soccer/Manchester United TV
Live Stream: FOX Soccer 2Go/MUTV Online
Players to Watch
Wilfried Zaha
All eyes will be on Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha. Although Zaha's transfer was announced in January, he spent the rest of the season on loan at Crystal Palace. It was a great deal for both clubs, as Zaha remained playing first-team football and helped to get Palace promoted to the Premier League.
Although Zaha looks very promising, it's important to keep expectations somewhat subdued. This is a player who's never played in the first division, and now he'll be lining up for the reigning Premier League champions.
Preseason form is largely irrelevant when it comes to actual performance, but the perception of Zaha's talent will only be boosted with strong performances in United's friendlies.
He'll want to hit the ground running.
Danny Welbeck
One of the players who could really benefit from the Wayne Rooney saga is Danny Welbeck. No matter how the transfer rumours regarding the star striker evolve from here, he's going to be out for a month with a hamstring injury, per the BBC.
With Javier Hernandez coming off the Confederations Cup, Danny Welbeck should be getting the Lion's share of the time against Singha All-Star XI.
Although he only scored one goal last season, Welbeck was very effective for United when he was on the pitch. He offered some width when played out on the wing and offered more of a creative option at the top of the attack when paired with Robin van Persie.
Michael Keane
It's doubtful Michael Keane will have a huge impact on the Manchester United first team this season. The 20-year-old centre-back is showing a lot of promise, though.
These kind of friendlies are a great opportunity for players like Keane. The big stars will probably play 45 minutes at the most, leaving the younger guys like Keane with a lot of time on the pitch. He can really make an impact on Moyes with some good performances.
Keane spent last season with Leicester City, making 22 Championship appearances. It helped to give the player a lot of experience, and he even managed to score two goals.
