Arsenal Go Fourth Season Without a Trophy: What Needs to Change?
As Arsenal were bundled out of the Champions League semifinal by archrivals Manchester United, their fans felt the sad realization of yet another trophyless season.

Arsenal's early season poor run of form in the Premier League means it is five years since they lifted the Premier League trophy. The baby Gunners' inability to find the back of the net against Burnley cost them their first League Cup title under Arsene Wenger, and Lukas Fabianski's meltdown cost them the FA Cup.
To be fair, whenever Wenger's men look like dominating the Premier League or Champions League, the Gunners always seem to have one of their star players injured and out for the season.
Wenger's method of keeping a young team has worked in the past, but it has not really come to fruition these last few seasons.
This year's side boasts an average age of 21, and their oldest player is barely over 30. Should Arsenal and Wenger ditch the young gun theory and look for experienced veterans?
There is also the fact that Wenger never dips into his wallet. His poor transfer ability at the start of the 2008/2009 campaign did hurt Arsenal early on in the season. However, during the January transfer window, the Frenchman did capture talented Russian Andrei Arshavin for an Arsenal record of £15 million.
Should Wenger drop his cheap scheme and attempt to sign expensive players who will undoubtedly do the job needed—win trophies?
Wenger is not the problem—the Frenchman needs to remain at Arsenal as long as possible—but what is stopping them from succeeding?
