Spirits are definitely at fever pitch this Monday after a triumphant return to winning ways in our weekend forecasts. The Manchester double bet worked like a treat, while we even scared ourselves by correctly predicting that De Graafschap would beat NAC and Tubize would take a point off Anderlecht.

The coffers are now nicely swelled, and we now have the £200 profit mark locked in our sights.

Tuesday night sees the return leg of the Champions League semifinal between Arsenal and Manchester United. In order for the North Londoners to progress to the final, the Gunners either need to win 2-0 or, should the Red Devils score, 3-1, or alternatively they can win 1-0 and take the game to penalties.

In all other eventualities, it will be Sir Alex, and not Monsieur Wenger, who will be sitting in the dugout in Rome.

Considering the form of the league leaders, it would take a brave man to bet against Manchester United not scoring at the Emirates (7/4). And not being that brave, that is a bet we will avoid.

Rather, we are staking £30 that Manchester United will qualify for the final (1/4) and will score at Arsenal (4/11) in the hope of a £51.14 return.

Before we leave this fixture, there is one other market that we are betting on. Wayne Rooney may be playing out of his skin at present, but the Scouse striker has never managed to shrug off his quick-temper.

Already on a yellow card, a booking against the Gunners will rule Rooney out of the showpiece final.

Sadly, this market is too much fun not to have a stab at, and with generous odds of 5/2 on Rooney getting booked, we hope to turn £6 into £21.

On Wednesday night, aside from the Chelsea-Barcelona match, the seventh round of the Swedish Allsvenskan takes place. Fourth-bottom Hammarby take on third-bottom Kalmar with both sides having picked up only one win in their equally wobbly starts.

Also playing on the same night, bottom-club Orgryte hosts mid-table Brommapojkarna in a match that will likely be as exciting as it sounds.

With attractive odds of 11/5 in both matches of the games ending in draws, we are staking £4 on a double stalemate hoping for a return of £40.96.

Finally, on Thursday night the UEFA Cup semifinals conclude with most assuming that the winner of the Hamburg-Werder Bremen tie will be the favourites in the final.

Martin Jol’s side have a 1-0 advantage at the start of the evening and, after battling hard against Hertha Berlin last weekend, look in good shape to reach Istanbul.

Despite being outside the goals in recent weeks, Ivica Olic has continued to put in some stellar shifts up-front for Hamburg. The Croatian is 7/4 to score on the night, and we are backing the little dynamo to produce the goods.

Staking £7 on Olic to score (7/4) and Hamburg to progress (11/4), we hope to walk away with £26.25 in returns.
