Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Red Devils Should Add Thiago Alcantara
Signs have been pointing to Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara making an exit from Barcelona, and if that happens the popular speculation for his new home is Manchester United.
As ESPN's Miguel Delaney reports, Alcantara, Marouane Fellaini and Cesc Fabregas are at the top of new Red Devils boss David Moyes' wishlist.
The Daily Telegraph's Guillem Balague also reported United's interest.

Meanwhile, HITC Sport reports that Thiago admitted that Red Devils keeper, and Thiago's Spain's under-21 teammate, David de Gea, has been trying to convince him to join Manchester United.
In fact, there is enough information out there linking him to the Red Devils that he was recently asked about all the speculation.
Lucas Brown of Sky Sports passed along this from Thiago on recent transfer rumors:
"I just live my life and I am very happy.
I enjoy it in Barcelona because I have lived through some great times but we will see what happens after the Euros.
Any player is used to living with rumours about him and they just cannot affect you.
"
It is good that Alcantara is not complaining about the added attention since a big part of this speculation comes from those close to him.
Earlier in the year, The Daily Mail's Simon Jones reported that Thiago is "ready to quit Nou Camp." To arrive at this conclusion, Jones uses the thinking of Thiago's father, who cited Thiago's lack of playing time and the depth of Barcelona.
Of course, Balague also noted that Thiago's father is now saying that he is staying, so it is certainly not a certainty that Alacantara will join Manchester United or anyone else this summer.
However, that lack of playing time will now help to facilitate his departure. Brown and Balague agreed on the numbers, that: "Thiago's buy-out clause at Camp Nou is understood to have dropped from €90million to €18million after he failed to play 30 minutes or more in 60 percent of Barca's games this season."
Needless to say, the drop in price will generate a lot more interest in Alcantara.
While Delaney's report indicates that it is Fabregas who is the top target of the Red Devils, and they can't be blamed for that, Man U can't let this keep them from going all-in on Alcantara.
While the Red Devils are stacked from top to bottom, they are going to have some needs at midfield.
Paul Scholes has retired, and with Ryan Giggs nearing the end of his career, the Red Devils need to revamp their midfield.
That means they could still add Fabregas and have playing opportunities for Alcantara—not to mention that it is going to take a special talent to keep Alcantara off the pitch.
Thiago is a master with the ball. He displays control and patience beyond his 22 years. He seldom makes bad decisions, and his pinpoint passes help set up an attack.
He still has some maturing to do as he could benefit from added strength, but there is no reason to think that this won't come with time.
These are minor concerns for a player as talented as Alcantara, and the Red Devils would be adding a key piece for years to come if they can pull this move off.
