Manchester City Transfer Rumors: Who Is Leaving the Etihad This Summer?

Eric BostJun 6, 2018

Now that the 2012-2013 Barclays Premier League season is over, teams switch their minds to the summer transfer window.

While fans throughout the world await the arrival of new players to upgrade their squads, every team does have their price. Some players become worth too much or wear out their stay on the team.

After finishing in second to rival Manchester United in the EPL standings this past season, the Citizens of Manchester City look to make moves during the transfer window so they can make the move to the front of the Premier League next year.

But while new players will surely join the roster, some players on this year’s team will join with another.

Here is the latest on what players could find their way out Manchester by the end of this summer’s transfer window.

Carlos Tevez, F

For a time, Manchester City had one of the best goal scorers in the world. Tevez netted a combined 43 goals during league play in his first two years with the club. In the two years since, after dealing with multiple fines and rumors of wanting to transfer out of Manchester City, he scored just 15 goals, including 11 this past season.

Now, according to the Daily Star, Man City is looking to swap the 29-year-old striker with Real Madrid’s defensive pair Pepe and Angel Di Maria.

Tevez has been more of a problem off of the field rather than a solution on it for City the past couple of years. He has already spoken of his interest in going to PSG or Monaco as well.

Since his contract is up after next season, expect City to try their hardest to get what they can for Tevez now instead of trying to offer him a new contract next year.

Scott Sinclair, M

City is close to sending the young midfielder to Liverpool, according to multiple reports, including The Express. After signing a four-year contract from Swansea last season, Sinclair’s debut year for the reigning Premier League champions was disappointing.

Sinclair only started three games in a meager 15 appearances for the club, and on May 8 he underwent surgery for a blood clot in his shoulder.

Even though he is still in recovery, Sinclair is looked as someone with potential, especially being only 24 years of age.
