Liverpool Transfer Rumours: 3 to Ignore, 3 That Might Happen
The summer will once again be filled with multiple rumours linking multiple players with moves to multiple clubs, with Liverpool again likely to be at the centre of many of them.
Brendan Rodgers' side quite clearly need reinforcements in certain areas of their squad, and the summer is likely to prove to be an important one in both their immediate future and beyond.
The club will be mentioned with several names between now and the closure of the summer transfer window, but which of those rumours are likely to be true and which aren't?
Of course there is so much that can go wrong with football transfers, meaning that no move can be confidently predicted, but here are six rumours rated for their potential to come true.
You can ignore three, but pay attention to the others.
Ignore: Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona)

Barcelona's Chilean forward has had a rocky time of it at the Nou Camp recently, and he appears set for a summer switch.
With Juventus believed to be monitoring his situation, the former Udinese man looks primed for a move back to Serie A.
Throw in the 'Old Lady's' guaranteed Champions League football next season and you can see that as a much more likely move for a gifted performer, if one who can be a little erratic at times.
Ignore: Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid)

A mooted return to Merseyside for 2005 Champions League winner Alonso has long been discussed amongst Liverpool supporters, but the club have slipped somewhat since the midfielder's time at Anfield.
A supposed contract dispute at Real Madrid, plus the likely exit of Jose Mourinho this summer, had led to much more talk of a move. However, as the article above states, that talk has now ended with Alonso confirming his plans to stay in Spain.
It was a nice thought while it lasted, but he's not coming back.
Ignore: Victor Wanyama (Celtic)

Okay, maybe 'ignore' is a bit drastic, but given the price that Celtic are likely to ask for their Kenyan midfielder, a move for Wanyama would seem to be a little unlikely.
There is little doubt that the Reds will be aware of the 21-year-old Wanyama's terrific quality and potential, and they'll certainly have sent scouts to watch him on numerous occasions. However, with central midfield not exactly a position to prioritise for Liverpool in the summer, a move for him can be put on the back-burner.
Might Happen: Toby Alderweireld (Ajax)

The Belgian defender will leave Ajax in the summer and Liverpool are reportedly at the head of the queue for his services.
A classy operator, Alderweireld has all the capabilities to form a strong defensive partnership with Daniel Agger should he be called upon to replace the retiring Jamie Carragher.
The 24-year-old would be a good addition for the Reds, and they should be doing all they can to bring him to Merseyside.
Might Happen: Lucas Digne (Lille)

Jack Robinson is a promising left-back, but for much of the campaign the Reds have only had Jose Enrique to call upon as a specialist in that position.
He's done well, but a backup option to him could arrive in the form of Lille's highly-rated 19-year-old Lucas Digne.
A regular in the Lille first team and a player on several France youth sides for the past year-and-a-half, Digne wouldn't come cheap but would confirm Rodgers' belief in investing in talented youngsters.
Might Happen: Aymen Abdennour (Toulouse)

This is a move that would only happen if the switch for Digne doesn't, but it is easy to see why Liverpool are reported interested in a move for the Tunisian full-back.
After reportedly sending scouts to watch the £6m Toulouse man in action, Rodgers might have to be quick to make a move for a player also attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Barcelona.
Capable of playing at centre-back and left-back, the 23-year-old could be a key addition.
