FIFA 13 Ultimate Team: Most Consistent Team of the Season Cards Revealed

Nick AkermanMay 8, 2013

FIFA 13's Ultimate Team mode has entered its most exciting stint of the year with the announcement of the "Most Consistent but Never In-Form Team of the Season" selections.

This is the opening two Team of the Season reveals from a total of eight. EA Sports has treated its virtual community to a gold squad and second round of picks made up entirely of silver/bronze players. All will enter packs at 6 p.m GMT/1 p.m ET.

These teams were mainly created by members of the FIFA 13 Ultimate Team official forum, who have collectively discussed and toiled over which players should be included across the last few weeks. Team of the Season cards represent the best versions available of selected players and can be defined by their blue colouring on the marketplace (a design also used for the all-La Liga Team of the Year).

Expect many of these cards to be extremely pricey. Has your favourite non in-form player finally been upgraded? Read on to find out and be sure to check back for more Team of the Season squads in the coming weeks.

Analysis

3 of 3

Arsenal fans will be glad to finally see Mikel Arteta rewarded for a decent season with the Gunners. He joins Simon Mignolet, Phil Jagielka, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sascha Riether as Premier League selections who have been overlooked throughout the season.

Watch out for Nicolas N'Koulou's upgraded card. His combination of pace and strong defensive abilities is sure to make him a firm favourite for relevant teams. He is likely to also become a key component of hybrid sides that aim to combine other leagues.

The same can be said for Javi Martinez, who is likely to cost an absolute bomb when he hits the market. Not only is he a Spanish destroyer, the former Athletic Bilbao man is part of a Bayern Munich side that is hugely popular on Ultimate Team right now. Silver fans will also notice Thomas Ince as an explosive (yet expensive) investment.

With only two Team of the Season squads announced, do any of these cards grab your interest? Who are you looking out for in the coming weeks? Be sure to let me know in the comments section below and follow me on Twitter right here:
