It looks like Brazilian star Neymar's days of playing in his home country are nearing an end as he reportedly does not intend to re-sign with Santos.

According to Stefan Coerts of, Neymar will not renew his expiring deal and Santos vice president Odilio Rodriguez expects the forward to play elsewhere next season.

Neymar has informed us that he won't be renewing his deal because his time at Santos has come to an end, Rodriguez told Cadena Ser.

There are sure to be several top European clubs in the market for the 21-year-old phenom's services, so he will have no shortage of options once his contract officially expires.

Coerts is also reporting that Barcelona appears to be the leader when it comes to signing Neymar, but other teams obviously won't go quietly. Neymar is considered to be one of the best young talents in the world, and there is no doubt that whichever squad ultimately signs him will have a big leg up on the competition.

While Serie A is an extremely competitive league with a ton of talent, it simply doesn't measure up to La Liga or the EPL, and Neymar surely knows that. He has already conquered the Brazilian league and is clearly better than the competition, so the time has come for him to explore new challenges.

It won't be easy for Neymar to dominate regardless of which top-level league he decides to play in, but he is easily one of the most electric players in the sport today.

Neymar is in an advantageous position as he can essentially pick and choose where he goes, so he'll likely end up in a great situation.
