Adrian Bushell: Video Highlights for Former Louisville CB
Adrian Bushell is a scrappy cornerback who demonstrated a complete game during his time with Louisville.
At 5'9'' and 186 pounds, he projects to play against slot receivers in the NFL, just like he did in college, and his special teams experience will make him a valuable commodity.
Here are some of the top plays of Adrian Bushell's collegiate career with the Cardinals.
Tackle on Screen vs. Florida in 2013 Bowl Game
1 of 6Against Florida in the Sugar Bowl, Bushell did a fabulous job working around two blocks to get to the receiver who was the target on this quick screen.
These type of screens are becoming more prevalent in today's NFL, so this specific play—a fine showing of awareness and quick-twitch agility—will impress the professional scouts, coaches and general managers.
Hit on Pass Breakup vs. Florida in 2013 Bowl Game
2 of 6Starting as the slot corner on this play, Bushell drifted into the flat in zone coverage to get to the outside receiver, who was targeted by Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel.
Bushell got to the wideout precisely as the ball arrived, and the Louisville cornerback was able to apply a hit that jarred the ball loose.
Run Stop vs. Connecticut in 2012
3 of 6Bushell made one of the most difficult plays for a defensive back to make on this run.
After the handoff, a major hole on the left side of the UConn offensive line materialized, and suddenly Bushell was the only defender in front of the runner with plenty of space around him.
As the ball-carrier looked to pop it outside, Bushell broke down and made a tackle below the waist.
Tackle for Loss vs. Connecticut in 2012
4 of 6Because he typically manned the slot cornerback spot, Bushell was sent on a variety of blitzes during his time at Louisville.
On this play, he was a last-second blitzer, and he read the running play quickly.
Bushell was able to tightly turn the corner to get to the ball-carrier before he made it back to the line of scrimmage.
Blocked Field Goal vs. West Virginia in 2011
5 of 6You can see Bushnell standing up on the left edge of Louisville's field goal block formation on this play. He rapidly bent around the corner and got his hand on the kick.
Teammate Andrew Johnson picked up the football and took it 82 yards for a touchdown.
Bushell certainly has vast special teams experience—he could probably be labeled as a special teams ace.
Downed Punt vs. Connecticut in 2012
6 of 6Working as the outside gunner on this punt, Bushell demonstrated his keen special teams instincts and athletic ability.
He wasn't pressed at the line, but he made an inside-out move to get to the perimeter.
Upon doing so, the Connecticut player shoved him near the sidelines.
Bushell was able to stay in bounds and get to the football before it reached the end zone.
He definitely has a bright future on special teams in the NFL.
