English Premier League: Predicting the Outcome of Each Match for Game Week 24

Bimersha GautamMay 31, 2018

After a brief sojourn, the Premier League resumes this Wednesday. Four matches on Wednesday, followed by six more on Thursday will certainly make for some delightful action.

The most riveting matchup is that between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates, while other matches to look out for would be Fulham vs. West Ham and Swansea vs. Sunderland.

Here is the complete fixture list and predictions:

1. Aston Villa vs. Newcastle

Both Newcastle and Aston Villa have been struggling this season and are only a whisker away from the relegation zone. Newcastle have only one draw and four losses in their last five matches, while Aston Villa have two draws and four losses in their last six.

Both are precariously close to catastrophe. However, given Newcastle's recent recruits, the Magpies might just edge it against Villa.

2. QPR vs. Manchester City

QPR have been on the rise, but Manchester City might prove too strong for Harry Redknapp's men.

3. Stoke City vs. Wigan

Stoke have had a disastrous campaign in the last month. They have conceded at least three goals in all of their last four matches. However, Wigan too have had a miserable run and have been firmly ensconced in the relegation battle for a while now.

I expect Stoke City to prove more resilient in defence in this game with a draw most likely.

4. Sunderland vs. Swansea City

Michael Laudrup's men have been sensational this season. Fresh off a miraculous win over Chelsea in the League Cup, Swansea will be seeking to extend their phenomenal run. Swansea City to win.

5. Arsenal vs. Liverpool

This one is a tough game to call. However, I feel given the form of Theo Walcott and Oliver Giroud, Arsenal will score a narrow victory over Liverpool.

6. Everton vs. West Brom

West Brom have been experiencing wretched from for a while. Everton should be able to take this game.

7. Norwich vs. Tottenham

Norwich's defensive resilience seems to have been broken, as they have managed to draw once and lose on five occassions in the last six matches. Surely, Tottenham is expected to win.

8. Fulham vs. West Ham

A tough one to call. I'd go for a draw, unless Dimitar Berbatov conjures something majestic.

9. Manchester United vs. Southampton

With Nigel Adkins sacked and discontent growing among the players and fans, Southampton will surely need a miracle to overcome United at Old Trafford. I predict United will steamroll them.

10. Reading vs. Chelsea

Chelsea were saved from embarrassment by a Fernando Torres goal against lowly Brentford. However, Reading, despite their impressive win in the FA Cup at the weekend, are the underdogs. A Chelsea victory for me.
