Lakers' Metta World Peace Talks Earthworms in 'Metta World Therapy'

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

Metta World Peace is having quite the season, and it all may be due to some side therapy sessions he is getting from some adorable young kids.

Back in October, we brought you a video which served as a bit of a precursor to something called "Metta World Therapy," a show produced by The NOC featuring Lakers enigmatic star Metta World Peace.

Now it seems they have released the first episode.

Much like that video from a couple months ago, this one is hilarious. It all revolves around MWP and the enormous amount of pressure he is under at work.

It would be your basic, run-of-the-mill "kids say the darndest things" kind of video. Thankfully, the strange oddity that is World Peace steps in with some charm.

The most bizarre is the admission that earthworms seem to soothe this man, so his young therapist suggests he go searching for some at halftime, even out in downtown Los Angeles.

If that doesn't work, he could always bump his fists together, because that seems to work wonders when it comes to relieving stress.

In a season of tremendous tumult for the Lakers, the man first off the bench for LA is having a great season. He is averaging 13.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and those numbers are both up significantly from last season.

So you have to think this therapy might be working. True, it's all part of a sketch comedy bit, but it's been a long time since we have seen MWP this at ease.
