Bowl Games 2012: Projecting Most Anticipated Contests This Bowl Season

Rob GoldbergJun 7, 2018

Sometimes it seems like there are so many bowl games that it is difficult to find the best ones. But a number of great games usually emerge out of the massive group.

Last year, the Fiesta Bowl and Rose Bowl both excited fans with high-scoring games that came down to the last minute. This year, a variety of games could end up being the best of the season.

While the games have not been announced yet, these would be the best games to watch if they were to happen.

Capital One Bowl: Michigan vs. Texas A&M

This potential matchup would pit two of the most exciting quarterbacks in football against each other.

Denard Robinson is the senior leader for Michigan and has the ability to score from anywhere on the field. Johnny Manziel is as good of a runner, but the freshman can also throw the ball as well as anyone in the country.

The duel between these two quarterbacks might create some of the most exciting plays all year.

Of course, it will not be easy. Both defenses are in the top 30 in the nation in points allowed and should be a challenge for the opposing quarterback.

Allstate Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Oregon

With Alabama's win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, the Crimson Tide clinched a spot in the National Title Game.

However, the loss probably caused Georgia to fall out of the BCS completely.

Florida has arguably the best resume in football after beating Texas A&M, LSU, South Carolina and Florida State this season. The defense is as good as any in the country, but it would be up for a challenge in this game.

Oregon averages over 50 points per game this year and has topped 40 points in all but one game.

This offense versus defense battle would be a thrill to watch if it happened in the Sugar Bowl.

BCS National Championship: Notre Dame vs. Alabama

This is the game that classic college football fans have been hoping for all year.

Notre Dame and Alabama are two of the most storied programs in the history of the sport, and they have two of the largest fanbases around the country.

This season, the two sides have the best defenses in the country, and the game is sure to be an intense battle.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait over a month for the climax of the college football season.
