College Football Predictions Week 9: Picks Against the Spread for Biggest Games

Alex KayJun 1, 2018

Week 9 of the college football season looks to be another major one for bettors. There are a number of high profile games, especially between SEC powerhouses, that promise a lot of juicy action for those willing to take a piece of it.

Let’s take a look at some of the marquee contests of the week and predict some winners against the spread

No. 1 ALABAMA (-23.5) over No. 11 Mississippi State

These are two relatively untested SEC teams, but the Crimson Tide are leaps and bounds better than the Bulldogs.

Lay the points, as this game will be taking place at Bryant-Denny Stadium and QB A.J. McCarron has yet to throw a single interception this season. It won’t even be close as the Tide’s defense is relentless and opportunistic.

Coach Nick Saban has his boys prepared for a repeat national championship run and this Miss St. squad will not slow them down.

No. 5 Notre Dame (+10.5) over No. 8 OKLAHOMA

While the Fighting Irish might have trouble winning this straight up, you can feel safe getting ten points with them against a one-loss Sooners squad.

It’s not often a defense as stout as Notre Dame’s is getting so many points, but it’s a testament to how weak Vegas feels the offense in South Bend is.

Regardless, the Irish should easily keep this one within ten, so grab the hook and win some money.

No. 2 Florida (-6.5) over No. 10 Georgia

The Cocktail Party is going to take over Jacksonville this weekend, and both teams are hoping to emerge victorious.

However, the Gators are clearly the superior team, as they have handled business against LSU and South Carolina, while the Bulldogs dropped a winnable contest against the Gamecocks.

Lay the points and take Florida against an overrated ‘Dawgs team that will be exposed on Saturday.
