The Top 11 Recruits Playing in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

One of the most prestigious honors in college football recruiting is to be a U.S. Army All-American, as the All-Star Game has featured many players that are in the NFL and also college football stars. This year, the game will be in January of 2013 and in San Antonio once again.

Many of the nation's best prospects this year have already announced they will be participating in the game. The week of practice will be fantastic, as we get to see the nation's best prospects face off against each other all week long, captivated by a great game at the end.

Here are the top 11 recruits who have committed to play in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

11. Greg Bryant, RB

1 of 11

Bryant is a 5'10", 205-pound running back from Florida that is a downhill, attack-style runner. He has a good burst to and through holes, runs well behind his pads and is very tough.

He decommitted from Oklahoma several months ago and the schools I feel are best in the mix are Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, Alabama and Georgia. Look for him to run strong at the Army game.

10. Ryan Burns, QB

2 of 11

From Virginia, Burns is a 6'5", 220-pound quarterback that can do a little bit of everything. He has good field vision, delivery quickness and arm strength.

Burns flashes solid accuracy to all levels and is a deceptively good athlete for a big QB. He is committed to Stanford and will be looking to show everyone why he's David Shaw's prized pupil in San Antonio.

9. Derrick Griffin, WR/TE

3 of 11

It'll be interesting to see where Griffin plays at this game between WR and TE. I think he probably wants to stay at WR, but when you are 6'6" and 228 pounds as a high school senior, you're only going to get bigger.

His size will be imposing to defensive backs, as will his athleticism, deceptive build speed and leaping ability. Look for Griffin to try to put on a show in his home state.

8. Laquon Treadwell, WR

4 of 11

Treadwell is a 6'3", 190-pound receiver from Illinois with good length and speed. He will be facing some good defensive backs all week and during the game, so this will be a challenge that should have him bringing out his full skill set to succeed.

Schools like Ole Miss, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Florida are recruiting Treadwell, but I'd be a little surprised if he didn't end up at Michigan.

7. Derrick Henry, RB

5 of 11

At 6'3" and 245 pounds, Henry is a very large running back. He is from Florida and has great athleticism, elusiveness, instincts and speed. He's not a power back, but has improved his run strength this season.

Committed to Alabama, I think Henry will use this game to try to dispel any rumors about whether he can play running back in college.

6. Kendall Fuller, CB

6 of 11

Fuller will make the trip from the Baltimore-D.C. area to San Antonio for the Army game. He is a 5'11", 185-pound cornerback that is among the best overall athletes in the nation this year.

Fuller can effectively press and jam at the line to re-route receivers, mirror their releases then attach himself hip to hip to stay with them stride for stride all around the field. These skills will be on display at the game and in practices.

5. Eli Woodard, CB

7 of 11

The 6'0", 185-pound cornerback from New Jersey will also be showing his cover skills at the Army game. Woodard has excellent instincts, anticipation, play smarts, technique and discipline.

He's a very heady player that can quickly recognize routes and has a knack for being at the right place at the right time. It'll be fun watching him play against excellent competition.

4. Kenny Bigelow, DT

8 of 11

Bigelow is also from the Mid-Atlantic region like Woodard and Fuller. He's a 6'3", 297-pound DT prospect that has overwhelming athleticism, quickness and physicality to his game.

Bigelow will mix it up at the point of attack with any blocker, fight to pressure the passer and has a burst to finish. He's also active against the run and has the lateral agility to make tackles in various gaps.

He's committed to USC.

3. Su'a Cravens, S

9 of 11

Remember last year's game when Shaq Thompson was the clear-cut best player on the field? Well this year's Shaq Thompson is Su'a Cravens, a 6'1", 205-pound safety from Southern California.

Cravens is an excellent athlete with great football instincts, good speed, quickness and ball skills. He can play in the box and seems to see things before they happen.

He's also committed to USC.

2. Max Browne, QB

10 of 11

At 6'5", 214 pounds, Browne has great size for the QB position. He shows a super quick release, solid arm strength, good judgement and accuracy to all levels of the defense.

Browne is a very good decision maker who sees the field well and understands how to read coverages. He also has solid pocket presence and is set to be the next great USC QB.

1. Ricky Seals-Jones, WR/TE

11 of 11

I have a hunch that Seals-Jones will be playing WR in this game, as the 6'5", 230-pound pass catcher seems to want to stay on the offensive perimeter in college.

Seals-Jones will return to the field this week from the dislocated kneecap he suffered on September 6th. He's an outstanding athlete who actually plays QB for his high school team in Sealy, TX.

Seals-Jones will be anxious to show off his size and athleticism in front of his home state crowd.
