2012 College Football TV Schedule Week 8: TV Listings for the Upcoming Week
After the first BCS standings have been unleashed on us, we—the college football viewers—have a ton to be happy and complain about, because we can never be 100 percent happy with anything.
That is why, after this week, we may see two teams sit atop of the BCS standings from two separate conferences.
So, with that being said, welcome back to another week of the ultimate college football television viewing guide.
BCS Is Already a Mess:
This is the first column of the second half of the season and, as I said in the opening, the first BCS standings are upon us. You’ll notice in the table below that the schedule, and how teams are ranked, resemble the latest BCS rankings.
So don’t come complaining in the comment section when you see No. 2 Florida taking on No. 7 South Carolina at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday even if Oregon is No. 2 in every other poll.
I, probably just like you the reader, don’t get the BCS standings and how you could be No. 2 in the two most popular polls, but yet be ranked third in the most important standings.
Okay, enough BCS complaining.
The standings will work themselves out before the first week of December when the final standings are released. If Alabama and Florida can stay No. 1 and 2 from here on out, then they will end up playing each other in the Georgia Dome for the SEC conference championship.
So, eventually, someone will get knocked out of the top two spots.
California University of Pennsylvania Update:
But, before we get into the next week of football, it’s time for the weekly update of how the Cal U Vulcans are doing in the D-II.
This week was homecoming at Cal U and the Vulcans did not disappoint the alumni—except for your favorite TV guide and alum of Cal U as I stayed at home in Austin, TX—who came in for the weekend as they shutout Lock Haven 30-0. The win improved the Vulcans' record to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC.
Last week, the Vulcans moved up from No. 15 to 13 in the latest D-II polls; and with the win they should crack the top 10 whenever the next poll is released.
Week 8 TV Schedule:
Okay enough of me, let's get to the next week of TV. Remember all times are eastern and be sure to check your local listings before each game. Some games are determined to where you are as to what channel they are on.
