Football has its fair share of serious characters, but there are some humorous men running around on the pitch every week.

In this day and age we have easy access to the players and can tell who is funny or not. They aren't the only funny ones though, as are players in the past.

These players have some pretty funny quotes but can also make us laugh in other ways. Sometimes we laugh at them and sometimes with them.

Here are the 10 of the funniest footballers of all time.

Peter Crouch

It only took one line for Peter Crouch to be considered one of the funniest men in sport.

According to the Daily Mirror, Crouch's response when asked a question saw him top a poll for funny moments in sports.

Here is what Crouch was asked and his response.

Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona was funnier when he stopped playing the game, but he's still a good fit for this list.

Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli is definitely a funny player. With all his incidents off the field, and some of them on it, Balotelli is the type of player you usually laugh at and not with.

David Luiz

David Luiz seems like a weird choice for this list, but there's a good amount of evidence on the web that he's a pretty funny guy.

Ryan Babel

Ryan Babel's twitter account provides us with a little insight on the Dutch winger's humour. His tweets over the last few days concern the use of the "BabelCopter."

This "Copter" seems to be available for use during transfer dealings and players such as Moussa Dembele, Dimitar Berbatov and Nicklas Bendtner have all been mentioned in relation to the infamous mode of transportation.
