Neymar Slips, Blasts Penalty Way over Goal and into Stands (Video)
Ah, the quirks of human nature. For all of our hero worship and building up of larger-than-life figures, we also tend to enjoy tearing superstars down.
Case of the day: Neymar.
The spiky-haired Brazilian wizard appears in the video above, and although Neymar, at age 20, has a longer highlight reel than any of us could ever hope to build, this clip has nothing to do with that.

By now, most of us have read the articles, seen the jaw-dropping highlights and probably even bought the hype. We know we have.
But that doesn't mean Neymar can't fail. And when he does fail, well, this one is admittedly a bit funny.
This clip, which is the Set Piece viral video of the day, serves as a reminder that, yes, even Neymar is human. It comes from the first-leg Recopa Sudamericana match between Neymar's Santos and Universidad de Chile, a club based in Santiago.
The Recopa annually matches the champions of Copa Libertadores (Santos) with the champions of the Copa Sudamericana (Universidad). This first-leg match finished scoreless, and the teams will settle the Recopa in the second leg back in Brazil on Sept. 26.
Now, to the video.
First, let's all agree that Neymar was outside the box when the penalty-winning foul was committed. The commentator agrees, as our limited knowledge of Spanish—"es afuera"—can confirm.
So maybe karmic revenge was responsible for Neymar's slip, fall and sky-high penalty shot moments later. That would seem like poetic justice indeed.
Or maybe it was just some moisture on the pitch. You be the judge.
