Robin Van Persie Transfer: Arsenal Would Regret Sending RVP to Man U

Arsenal appears to be on the verge of ensuring that Manchester United destroys them for the next four years or so. 

Consider this report by Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail. Mokbel makes it clear that there is a very real possibility that Robin Van Persie could be a Red Devil in time for the start of the season. Mokbel:

Sources say that a deal to take the Arsenal captain, who got 30 goals to win the golden boot last season, to Old Trafford could be completed by the time the season kicks off this weekend.

It is understood the Arsenal manager repeated his insistence to Ferguson the 29-year-old would not be allowed to leave for United for a penny under £30 million—but the Gunners will listen to offers starting at £20 million with add ons.

At least Arsenal is intent on demanding a ransom, but come on! What are they thinking? Are they so locked in on what they could do with the riches they receive for RVP that they haven't thought ahead of having to try and stop a lineup that features Wayne Rooney and RVP?

That would leave Man U with the top two goal scorers in the EPL last season. This would push an already potent Red Devil offense into the unstoppable category. 

This one move would put Man U in the driver's seat for the EPL title and leave Arsenal battling in the middle of the pack. 

They cannot let this kind of firepower go to a team they are chasing. Even if it means accepting less cash, Arsenal should find a different squad. They can consider that the price they are paying to not having to endure humbling defeats to a long-time tormentor that are aided by a player they once called their own. 

This is a bleak future and not one that some extra spending cash will help brighten.
