Big East Media Days 2012: Live Stream Info for Tuesday's Action

Jessica MarieJul 30, 2012

For those of you who can't wait one moment more than is necessary to find out the results of the Big East football preseason poll, you're in luck.

You can see the results as soon as they become available, thanks to the fact that they'll be broadcast on the conference's live stream of the Big East media day.

Tuesday's proceedings will be streamed live via the conference's official website, according to a press release issued by the conference on Sunday and published on Box Score News.

According to the release, John Rooke and Pete Brock will host the live stream, which will feature interviews with select players and coaches from Big East schools and an appearance by interim commissioner Joe Bailey in addition to an early glimpse of the preseason media poll.

The live stream will begin at 8:55 a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 31 on BigEast.org. If you're using a mobile or tablet device, you can see the live stream at BigEastMobile.com.

One of the big stories out of this year's media day is bound to be the initiation of Temple University's membership to the conference, which became effective on July 1. Temple's move into the conference should lessen a little bit of the blow stemming from the imminent departure of Syracuse, which will leave the Big East on July 1, 2013.

Last year, the Orange finished 1-6 in the conference and 5-7 overall, good for dead last. This year's big question: Can they make a comeback in their final year to win the Big East before moving on to the ultra-competitive world of the ACC?

The Orange are going to be fielding a lot of questions about their upcoming move from the conference, which will come at a hefty price: $7.5 million, according to the New York Times. In addition to Syracuse, Pittsburgh will leave the conference on July 1, according to the the Big East's official website.

In 2011, Pitt went 4-3 in the conference, 6-7 overall—not quite as bad as Syracuse, but not good enough to make a positive, lasting impression. The Panthers, as a result, will also be looking to leave the conference on a high note—and, hopefully, in first place.

This is going to be the last year the conference as we know it looks remotely familiar.

As the Panthers and the Orange depart, the conference will welcome a whopping six new members in 2013, according to ESPN.com's Andrea Adelson, including Boise State, Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, Southern Methodist University and the University of Central Florida.

So take this media day to enjoy the current Big East while you can, and to say goodbye to your old favorites, who will be participating in the ACC's media day festivities at this time next summer.
