SEC Football Weekly Recruiting Roundup: Auburn Gets a 4-Star Running Back
Every Wednesday here at The SEC Blog, we will update you on the latest commits, news and rumors in the recruiting world.
Commitments
Lost in the madness on Day 1 of SEC Media Days was the news that Auburn picked up a big-time running back commitment. Jordan Wilkins, a 6'1", 212-pound running back from Cordova, Tenn., chose the Tigers over offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi, Vanderbilt and Arkansas. He's rated as a 4-star running back by 247Sports.com, and the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee.
Tennessee got some immediate help from a big defensive lineman. Dante Phillips signed with Florida in February, but was denied admission. The Gators' loss is the Volunteers' gain. Phillips signed with Tennessee last week. The 6'6", 325-pound defensive tackle was rated as the nation's No. 19 defensive tackle in the country last season according to 247Sports.com.
Phillips will be joined in Knoxville by Colton Goeas, a 6'2", 245-pound inside linebacker from Honolulu, Hawaii. Goeas had offers from Hawaii, Oregon, Arizona State and UCLA, but chose to travel across the country to play football in Tennessee.
Alabama got some good news this week from 6'5", 240-pound tight end Josh McNeil. McNeil is a 4-star prospect according to 247Sports.com, and is rated as the No. 8 tight end in the country. Tight ends have become a focal point of the Crimson Tide offense, and McNeil may be the beneficiary of that in the future.
The Jones family legacy will continue at Tuscaloosa, when 3-star inside linebacker/H-back Walker Jones steps foot on campus and joins the Alabama program in 2013. Jones is the younger brother of Barrett Jones, Alabama's current starting center and reigning Outland Trophy winner, as well as reserve Tide H-back Harrison Jones.
LSU's Class of 2013 beefed up with the commitment of 6'4", 325-pound offensive guard Andy Dodd from Lindale, Ga. Dodd is a 4-star prospect according to 247Sports.com, and is ranked as the No. 11 offensive guard in the country. Dodd held SEC offers from Alabama, Mississippi State and South Carolina.
Arkansas' staff has a difficult task recruiting not knowing if they'll still be there in 2013, but that didn't stop 6'6", 235-pound tight end Hunter Henry from committing to the Hogs. Henry is the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas according to 247Sports.com, and chose the Razorbacks over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze got some good news this week when Daronte Bouldin, a 6'3", 295-pound offensive guard from Canton, Miss., committed to the Rebels. Bouldin held an SEC offer from Mississippi State, as well as Arkansas State, Tulane, Louisiana-Lafayette.
Joining Bouldin in Oxford will be 6'3", 195-pound safety Trey Bledsoe. Bledsoe had interest from several schools, but his only offer was from Ole Miss.
Zach Witchett, a 6'1", 196-pound wide receiver/athlete from Atlanta, Ga. will also head to Oxford as part of the Class of 2013. Witchett is a relative unknown, but still had offers from Oklahoma State, Mississippi State and Kansas.
Mississippi State raided the state of Alabama to get the commitment of Dezmond Harris, a 6'3", 205-pound athlete from Mccalla. Harris is a burner that has clocked a 40-yard dash time of 4.37. He is likely to play receiver at the college level.
Texas A&M stayed hot by locking down the commitment of Shaan Washington, a 6'3", 210-pound safety from Alexandria, La. Washington's athleticism means he could play on either side of the ball. He is rated as the No. 56 athlete in the nation by 247Sports.com.
Joining Washington in College Station will be Jeremy Tabuyo, a 5'11", 174-pound wide receiver from Honolulu, Hawaii. Tabuyo is a speedster that 247Sports.com ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of Hawaii, and is a good fit for that spread offense at Texas A&M.
News and Rumors
Running back/athlete Derrick Henry, the No. 20 recruit in the country according to 247Sports.com, may be nearing a decision.
"Think I might make my decision earlier !

Henry had previously said that he would take some time to decide. The one-time Georgia commit recently named Alabama his leader, so that could be good news for the Crimson Tide.
