Transfer Rumours: Top 7 Dribblers Available for Summer Transfers

Allan JiangJun 7, 2018

Here are the top seven dribblers available for summer transfers. Dribblers are exciting to watch and can be an opposing team's worst nightmare.

As an attacking player, you have to consistently score or provide if you're not a dribbler. If you do neither, you become Stewart Downing.

Neymar won’t be included because it’s highly unlikely that Santos will sell him this summer. Same applies with Luis Suárez because there's no way that Liverpool would sell their most talented player.

7. Gastón Ramírez, Bologna, Attacking Midfielder, Age: 21

1 of 7

Bologna manager Stefano Pioli tiptoed around the idea of selling Gastón Ramírez (via Football Italia):

"

If an offer were to come in that was economically important then it is only normal that the club would take it into account, but for now he is our player and I hope that he remains here so I can train him again.

"

Translation: You can have Ramírez for €20-plus million whilst we'll find the next Ramírez for a quarter of that price.

After his first season with a pitiful Rossoblù side, his sleek dribbling received just as much coverage as Adriano's excess baggage.

In Ramírez's second season, he was terrific in tandem with Alessandro Diamanti, as evident in a 1-1 draw against AC Milan.

Is Ramírez worth €20-25 million? Nope, because Filip Djuricic's potential is just as high as Ramírez's, but you don't see economically irresponsible bids for the Serbian.

In the span of two seasons, Ramírez went from an underrated prospect to an overpriced talent.

6. Victor Moses, Wigan Athletic, Right Winger, Age: 21

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan believes Victor Moses is worth £10 million.

Surprise, surprise: Chelsea are contemplating signing Moses. Roman Abramovich's brain trust must have glossed over Moses' six goals from 103 shots and solitary assist from 913 passes.

You'd think the Blues would just tell Whelan to piss off, but we are talking about Chelsea.

They once spent £18 million on Yuri Zhirkov to warm the bench and £15 million on Juan Sebastián Verón—even after it was clear his style didn't fit the Premier League.

So get ready to facepalm when you receive the terrible news that Chelsea yields to Whelan's wheeling and dealing.

5. Moussa Dembélé, Fulham, Attacking Midfielder, Age: 25

3 of 7

According to Jamie Sanderson at metro.co.uk, Manchester United are mulling over whether or not to pursue Moussa Dembélé.

Is Dembélé's dribbling a sight for sore eyes?

Of course.

Is productivity a problem?

Yep, but what's new?

He's better off attempting to dribble past the goalkeeper than attempting a shot because 29.5 shots per goal is cringeworthy.

Considering his entertaining dribbling, his exceptional ball-winning ability, his willingness to track back and his world-class talent, most people tend to overlook his inability to finish.

4. Ryan Babel, Hoffenheim, Left Attacking Midfielder, Age: 25

4 of 7

Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Swansea City are all interested in Ryan Babel, according to talksport.co.uk.

Babel's inefficiency will irk André Villas-Boas. Newcastle will only sign the Dutchman if he comes dirt-cheap. Michael Laudrup would be willing to take a risk on Babel because the Dane persisted with an inconsistent Michaël Pereira at Mallorca.

As hard as it is to believe, Babel is still the same player that burst onto the scene for Ajax all those years ago because he hasn't developed a whole lot.

Last season, he accumulated 2.3 more dribbles per game than Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the second-best player in the universe scored 55 more goals than Babel.

That is the difference between a world-class player and a world-class talent.

3. Gökhan Töre, Hamburg, Right Winger, Age: 20

5 of 7

Gökhan Töre will leave Hamburg, according to Daniel Jovanov at goal.com.

During a 1-1 draw against Hannover, Töre shimmied past his marker, drifted past another opposing player, avoided a tackle and then lost possession trying to emulate Oktay Derelioğlu.

That sequence of events sums up Töre, who has a higher dribbles-per-game average than Lionel Messi.

Yet, Chelsea let him go and now want to sign an impact sub like Victor Moses.

2. Lucas Moura, São Paulo, Right Forward, Age: 19

6 of 7

Sir Alex Ferguson admitted in the Telegraph that Lucas Moura was a realistic transfer target for Manchester United. Signing Lucas could bring some closure to missing out on Ronaldinho in 2003 (via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer):

"

I felt that if we had got Ronaldinho, we would have had a big chance in Europe. Without him, we can't really do anything different from what we tried last year.

"

Ferguson has a dismal track record with Brazilians.

Anderson: Why spend £25.6 million only to play him out of position?

Fábio: His window of opportunity is closing. He has to impress on loan at Queens Park Rangers.

Kléberson: People forget that he was an important member of Luiz Felipe Scolari's 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning team. That being said, Kléberson just never adapted, even though he had the right attributes to succeed at United.

Rafael: He needs to be more consistent.

If Ferguson does sign Lucas, United must switch to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 formation.

Do they need the Brazilian teenager? Nope, but Ferguson is clearly signing talent over need, which is why he's also going for Robin van Persie.

1. Hulk, Porto, Right Forward, Age: 25

7 of 7

Hulk told Lancenet (via msn.foxsports.com):

"

My future is in God's hands. Regarding transfers, I let my agent handle it. I'm focused on the national team.

"

He's a human locomotive but chooses to dive when there's slight contact. You can understand someone as weak as Marko Marin diving, but why does Hulk dive?

His power drive is a goalkeeper's nightmare, yet he chokes from 12 yards out.

He is a freak of nature because he has Zlatan Ibrahimović's strength, Cristiano Ronaldo's athleticism and Arjen Robben's dribbling ability.

Even with these characteristics, Hulk has yet to score in European games against Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.
