Darryl Stonum Is Heading to Baylor for Last College Season
Ex-Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum is headed to Baylor to finish off an eventful collegiate career.
Stonum is moving to Waco after being removed from the Wolverines roster in January following a string of issues with the law, including two DUIs.
Kyle Meinke of annarbor.com reports that Stonum will be able to play right away .
A likely starter for Michigan this year before being kicked off the team, Stonum redshirted his senior year.
Stonum will be missed by Michigan but should thrive with a team who has produced the likes of Terrence Williams, Kendall Wright and Josh Gordon.
It's a shame to see such a talented player leave, but it will allow a number of younger receiving options to enhance their playing time.
Stonum holds the record at Michigan for single season kickoff return yardage: 39 returns for 1001 yards in 2009.
Michigan will also have to replace the former 4-star recruit's production, which included an average of 336 receiving yards during his three years as a Michigan player.
A local product from Houston, Stonum should be able to realize his potential in the explosive offense that Baylor prides itself on.
With a strong senior year, Stonum should achieve every college player's dream of being drafted by an NFL team.
